Confused by Cables?

Welcome to the wonderful world of cables, both speaker and interconnect! This is as confusing a subject as any for the person trying to build an audio system!

Cable selection

For those of you who are new to this wonderful world of "audio", you may be amused at how much time (and money!) can be spent on the selection of cables. All cables sound the same, don't they?! Of course they do not and those who have been involved with this hobby for any length of time will know that to be the truth only too well.

Match the cable to the manufacturer

My main recommendation is to make life easy and where possible link pieces of electronics with cables made by the manufacturer who built the electronics you have chosen to use. This is sensible because it means the manufacturer, who is responsible for the signal in the first place, has sorted out the matching!

I recommend to those who own Kondo products to use Kondo cables and those who own 47Lab products to use 47Lab cables, and so on.
